The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force and many other Allied countries during and after the Second World War. The Spitfire was built in many variants, using several wing configurations and 3, 4 and 5 bladed prop designs. Over 20,000 were produced, more than any other British aircraft. It was the only British fighter to be in continuous production throughout the war. The Spitfire continues to be a popular aircraft, with approximately 55 Spitfires being airworthy today, while many more are static exhibits in aviation museums all over the world.
You can own a non-flying handcrafted model of the famous Spitfire aircraft. This model comes with a 17-page, color assembly guide. This is a fairly complex kit which will require patience and logic skills. Pieces fit inside other pieces and some filing may be required for a proper fit. A fingernail file is included. Not recommended for younger children without direct adult supervision.
When completed, the model can be glued and painted, stained or left natural. The interlocking pieces can be taken apart and re-built multiple times. Very suitable for a display model either at home, office or at school.
Each piece is sanded, splinter free and durable. For fit and appearance, some of the pieces may require a touch-up using a finger nail file or sandpaper. The model will stay together without glue. Shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
